My compromise between the White House and Senate Judiciary Committee on the supoenas: propose that the Senate Judiciary Committee be allowed to appoint a special prosecutor to pursue the investigations launched by Lam and Yang and the committee will allow the WH staff to have an informal conversation with doughnuts. I really believe that the American people will perceive the Dems as being truly after the search for truth and justice and not political points.
I am worried that while the political back and forth goes on between the WH and the Senate the bigger picture will be lost forever. The prosecutions Lam in San Diego and Yang in LA were pursuing are really what is important here. Sure, I’d love to see Rove, Miers, etc. testify but I don’t think that will happen too soon and I fear the prosecution of the most notoriously corrupt members of Congress will be lost in the fracas.
There’s a lot more that just Dusty Foggo and Jerry Lewis to be uncovered here. This administration is just rotten to the core and I believe that these investigations could lead somewhere. If you agree with me it is easy to make your thoughts known. Just go to the Senate Judiciary Committee website and suggest this compromise. It’s easy, the Dems are all listed and you just have to click on their names to take you to their individual websites, then cut and paste your message: Compromise with the WH by allowing the committee to appoint a special prosecutor to oversee the Lam and Yang investigations. It took me about 15 minutes to do this all the Dem members. Make sure you contact your own senators if they are not on the committee
